Our Housing Programs

At Aransas Pass Housing Authority, we are committed to providing safe, decent, and affordable housing for individuals and families in need. We currently offer two primary housing programs:

1. Public Housing Program

Our Public Housing Program provides affordable apartments owned and managed by the Aransas Pass Housing Authority. These units are available to low-income families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. Rent is based on household income, and we work with residents to ensure stable, supportive housing.

Key Features:

  • Managed directly by our agency

  • Income-based rent

  • Maintenance and support services included

  • Designed to support long-term housing stability

2. Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8)

The Housing Choice Voucher Program, also known as Section 8, helps eligible families afford housing in the private market. Qualified applicants receive a voucher that can be used to rent from private landlords. The Aransas Pass Housing Authority subsidizes a portion of the rent, allowing participants to pay an affordable share based on their income.

Key Features:

  • Choose your own rental home in the private market (Aransas Pass, Ingleside, Rockport, Portland)

  • Flexible options for families, seniors, and individuals

  • Ongoing support from our team

  • Promotes independence and housing stability
